PURPOSE:To improve the rigidity of a body front part in a cab-over type automobile by dividing each of front pillars in two parts in the longitudinal direction of a body and connecting the bottom end parts of the divided front and rear pillars to a front cross member and side sills respectively. CONSTITUTION:An automobile is formed into a cab-over type in which a front seat is provided on the upper part of an engine. And, a front pillar 2 is provided on each of both sides of a nose part which is extended in front of the body 1. In this case, each front pillar 2 is joined to a wheel apron 12 having a tire house 12a forming a closed section, while its lower part is divided into two parts in the longitudinal direction along the side face of the body. And, the bottom end parts of the front divided pillars 2a are connected to both end parts of a front cross member 3 which is provided on the front end part in the width direction of the body 1. On the other hand, the bottom end parts of the rear divided pillars 2b are connected to the front end parts of side sills 4 provided on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the body 1.
