PURPOSE:To prevent gas evolution and to increase electrolyte leakage resistance by using a metallic current collector having a mixed film of benzotriazole or its derivative and ampholytic surface active agent on the surface where is in contact with a negative active material. CONSTITUTION:The oxide film of copper or copper alloy, which is in contact with a gelled negative mix 8, of a metallic current collector 3 is removed with a chemical polishing agent comprising hydrogen peroxide and sulfuric acid. A mixed film of benzotriazole or its derivative and ampholytic surface active agent is formed on the metallic current collector 3 and then a gelled negative mix 8 is brought into contact with the metallic current collector 3. Thereby, gas evolution caused by the oxide film is retarded and the leakage of an alkaline electrolyte can be prevented. |
