PURPOSE:To improve the processing capability of a CPU by monitoring a serial data outputted from a data frame output circuit so as to detect the sending of a trailer part thereby inhibiting the sending of an undesired trailer part to a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A serial I/O controller 21 converts a data frame having a header part, a transmission information part and a trailer part into a serial data and sends it, and a communication control circuit 23 monitors the serial data outputted from a data frame output circuit to detect the sending of the trailer part and inhibits the input of a transmission request signal to a MODEM 22 thereby inhibiting the sending of an undesired trailer part to a transmission line 1. Thus, no undesired trailer part is included in the data frame sent serially from a terminal equipment to the transmission line 1 and the transmission line 1 is made idle in a comparatively faster time. Thus, the use of the transmission line 1 by other equipment is initiated immediately. Then the load of the CPU is relieved and its processing capability is improved.
