PURPOSE:To not only control an apparatus but also transmit a voice signal by providing a generating part which generates a signal to control the apparatus by the remote control and a signal transmitting part which transmits the voice signal to the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Keys according to operation purposes of various apparatus are arranged in a key input part 1, and a signal is transmitted to a transmission signal generating circuit 2 in accordance with the key which a user operates, and a transmission signal string is generated in accordance with the operated key and is transmitted from a transmitting circuit 3 to an apparatus 21. The remote control signal from the transmitting circuit 3 is received and restored by a receiving circuit 4 in the apparatus and is supplied to a control circuit 5. The control circuit 5 controls the operation in the apparatus 21 or another apparatus connected to the apparatus 21 in Accordance with the contents of this signal. Meanwhile, the voice signal of the user is transduced to an electric signal by a microphone 6 and is transmitted from a voice signal circuit 7 to a voice receiving circuit 8 in the apparatus 21. The voice signal is received and demodulated by a voice receiving circuit 8 and is processed in accordance with the function of the apparatus 21.
