PURPOSE:To monitor the collapse of a superconducting IC from a superconductive state and to prevent it by forming a superconduction monitoring sensor having different critical condition directly on a superconducting integrated circuit chip. CONSTITUTION:A superconduction monitoring sensor 2 having different critical condition is directly formed on a superconducting integrated circuit chip to detect that each element of the integrated circuit is in a superconductive state. The critical condition of the integrated circuit can be differentiated by selecting that of the sensor 2 and the material characteristics of the sensor 1 inside the range of the integrated circuit material characteristic. The different critical condition contains both the cases in which the material is different and the maximum current density Jmax is different. Thus, the transfer of the operation in the superconductive state to the critical state with respect to the integrated circuit is detected in advance, thereby always performing the function of the integrated circuit in the superconductive state.
