An adhesion promoter compositon comprising an organic polymer, of number average molecular weight up to 300,000. and containing an acidic group (or a precursor thereof) and a condensable group containing silicon, organic polymer components thereof, substrates coated with the promoter, and with other organic polymer coatings, and to processes for the preparation of the promoters and the coated substrates.
