<p>A base frame (2) for a work tower (4), which base frame (2) comprises two parallel upright members (6) spaced apart by a plurality of parallel brace members (8) which are fixed to the upright members (6), the members (6) each being provided with a collar (10) at a position on the members (6) between the lowermost brace member (8) and the next lowermost brace member (8), and there being a space (12) between each of the collars (10) and the lowermost brace member (8), the space (12) forming a saw cut area whereby the lowermost brace member (8) can be sawn off the base frame (2) to form the base frame (2) into an extension frame. Extension frames fit into spigots 14. Locking catches 16 may be provided to cooperate with holes 18 in spigots 14.
