PURPOSE:To transfer data between external devices without controlling the transfer by a CPU by allowing the two external storage devices to mutually know the execution level of the other external storage device. CONSTITUTION:The CPU 5 secures 1st and 2nd data buffer areas on a main storage device 6 at first, and then forms the array of processing execution instructions on the device 6 and sends the leading address of the array of the processing execution instructions to the external storage devices 3, 4 based on an output instruction to start processing. Consequently, the external storage devices 3, 4 read out the leading address of the array of the processing execution instruction written in the main storage device 6 and execute transfer processing. In this case, the external storage devices 3, 4 know the other execution level mutually and execute the processing continuously.
