The method is for improving the adherence of paint on the steel plate by spraying on the plate or dipping it into a solution containing 3- 1000 ppm of magnesium ion and 10-100 ppm of titanium ionbefore phosphorous acidic salt treatement. The MgS and Tis, pref., are used as material sources of Mg and Ti ions.
