PURPOSE:To lower frictional resistance, and to enable revolution at high speed by removing a brush and a bearing. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 1 consists of a magnet, and both ends of the shaft are supported by magnetic bearings composed of magnets 11a, 11e, 11i, 12a, 12e, 12i. Currents are caused to flow through coils 4a, 4b to allow a magnetic field caused by the coils 4a, 4b to vertically cross a disk 2. The disk 2 and an oxide cathode 8 are formed of a material having a small work function such as Ni, C, etc., easy to discharge electrons. Ultraviolet rays are applied toward the edge of the disk 2 from an ultraviolet-ray source 10 and a filament 7 is heated by a heating power supply 9 to heat the oxide cathode 8. Electrons are discharged from the edge of the disk 2 irradiated with ultraviolet rays, and sucked to an electrode 5. Thermo-electrons are emitted from the oxide cathode 8, and attracted to the shaft 1. Accordingly, currents flow through the inside from the outside of the disk 2, thus turning the disk 2.
