PURPOSE:To edit a document combining blocks mutually by providing the titled device with two memories for storing document information blocked by a punctuation instructing signal. CONSTITUTION:A character information input key, a memory specifying key for specifying either one of the memories 3, 4, an edition mode specifying key for specifying combined edition or individual edition, and a punctuation instructing key 1a for dividing document information into optional blocks and generating a punctuation instructing signal BVS are mounted on a keyboard for a document forming device. An editing device 2 inputs information from the keyboard and supplies it to the specified memory out of the memories 3, 4. Reading circuits 5, 6 read out character information respectively from the memories 3, 4. The signal BVS in the document information is detected by a comparator 8 and the memories 3, 4 are alternately selected by a vibrator 10 to block the document information. The blocked document information is alternately displayed and printed out by a display device 20 and a printer 19.
