PURPOSE:To easily remove the dust stuck on an optical head without decompos ing the optical disk device by providing a contact/uncontact driving means sliding relatively a wiping member to a read means and contacting/uncontacting the wiping member to/from the surface of the read means. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a read means 31 to read the information of an information recording medium 11, moving members 33, 35, 37 moving the read a wiping member 31 in the radial direction of the infor mation recording medium 11, provided so as to bring into contact with the surface of the read means 31 to wipe out the surface, and contact/uncontact drive means 41, 47, 53, 57, 61 sliding the wiping member 39 relatively to the read means 31 and contacting/uncontacting the wiping member 39 to/from the surface of the read means 31. Thus, the wiping member 39 is brought into contact with the surface of the read means 31 to be driven, and slid then the dust stuck on the surface of the real means is wiped out by the wiping member 39.
