PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having increased content of inorganic filler, high modulus and excellent heat-resistance, by applying ceramic powder, etc., to a surface of an organic fiber chip preliminarily immersed in a volatile solvent, kneading the chip under melting and extruding the molten polymer through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic filler 1 comprising ceramic powder or whisker and organic fiber chips 2 of 1-3mm in diameter and 2-4mm in length are charged into a vessel 4 containing a volatile solvent 3 such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone. The content of the vessel is stirred and the chips 2 are taken out of the vessel 4. The chips 2 are charged to a hopper 7, introduced into an extruder 6, kneaded under melting and extruded through a nozzle 8 to obtain the objective fiber containing 0.5-20vol.% said ceramic powder or whisker.
