PURPOSE:To enable yarn piecing in an automatic winder of winding unit circulating type by crossing the ends of two yarns guided in the direction substantially orthogonal to the axis of a yarn piecing hole to both sides of the piecing hole so as to be inserted in the piecing hole. CONSTITUTION:An automatic yarn piecing device to be operated at the time of yarn break in case of taking up a yarn drawn out from a tube yarn in a package of a winding unit includes a yarn piecing unit 8 to which both yarn ends YP, YB to be pieced are positioned in parallel to each other and introduced. The unit 8 includes a yarn piecing hole 13 having a groove 40 V-shaped in section for guiding both yarn ends YP, YB to a yarn piecing hole 23 and yarn end control nozzles 14, 15 for sucking and retaining the yarn ends YP, YB, which are disposed on both sides of the block. The yarn ends YP, YB which have been untwined in the control nozzles 14, 15 are drawn out from the control nozzles 14, 15, and then the yarn ends are laid one over the other under injection of a fluid in the piecing hole 23 to be pieced. |
