PURPOSE:To remove the dust adhered to an information recording medium automatically by using a control means to activate a drive means and a cleaning means for a prescribed time when the loading of the information recording medium is detected by a detection means. CONSTITUTION:A cassette 21 is loaded from a loading port 1 and inserted into an optical disk device 5, an optical disk 1 is loaded onto a turntable 10, and when the loading is detected by a loading sensor 51, a control means 52 applies the sequence control. Thus, the dust adhered onto the optical disk 1 is removed automatically without the command of operation of the cleaner 21 by the operator for the purpose. Thus, the recording or reproduction of information is applied accurately without being affected due to dust.
