PURPOSE:To avoid overwriting and falling into an infinite loop by recording in a prescribed position a mark showing the presence or absence of an error in data which have been recorded in a data recording part and detecting the presence or absence of the mark at the time of recording. CONSTITUTION:Information is recorded in one recording part in an information recording medium in which plural recording parts 4 (41, 42...) are arranged in parallel, in 41, for example, and the presence or absence of the error of recorded information is detected. If there is no error, the mark showing the absence of the error is recorded in the prescribed position of the recording part 41. The presence or absence of the mark showing the absence of the error in the recording part 4 which is to record information previous to recording is detected. If there is the mark showing the absence of the error, the recording part 41 which is to record information is changed into a second recording part 43 ahead. Thus, overwriting can be avoided and recording can be continued without falling into the infinite loop.
