PURPOSE:To remove a foreign material stuck on the surface of an information recording medium and to surely prevent the infiltration of dust externally by providing an attracting means having a filter removing dust stuck on the surface of the information recording medium to a position opposed to the information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When the presence of a foreign material such as dust is recognized on the surface of an optical disk 1, a fan driving motor is driven to operate a fan 13, then an attracting nozzle 12 attracts the exposed surface of the optical disk 1 and the foreign material is removed in a direction of the fan 13. Moreover, the foreign material attracted by the attracting nozzle 12 is attracted by the filter 16 and the foreign material such as external dust is also attracted by the filter 16 and the possibility of the infiltration into the device main body is entirely precluded.
