PURPOSE:To prevent attachment of living things to a submerged part by providing electrodes on an outer surface of a submerged part and applying predetermined voltage and further producing alkaline ambience around the submerged part. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 4 and a negative electrode 3 are provided on the outer surface 2 of a submerged part 2 of a hull 1, and a predetermined voltage is applied between both electrodes by low cycle. The circumference of the submerged part 2 comes to have overcurrent density and, according to ingredients in seawater, electrolyte materials such as magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide and the like are precipitated in the negative electrode 3, while alkaline ambience is produced in the circumference of the submerged part 2. Production of alkaline ambience can restrain growth of oceanic living things and also prevent their attachment to the outer surface of the hull. |
