Method and device for controlling an AC induction motor at all speeds of the motor including zero speed. The supply voltage is modulated with a sine-shaped signal with a predetermined frequency in order to generate a stator magnetic field and a rotor current. The supply voltage (uS) is distorted so that the magnetizing portion of the voltage (VL) will be sine-shaped. If this condition is fulfilled, compensation is achieved for such errors as the nonlinear magnetizing properties of the iron at beginning saturation and further sources of moment ripple is eleminated. The invention relates to voltage control of the induction motor in spite of the fact that the torque is generated by the current through the windings. The distortion of the voltages can take place in different ways and sine and cosine tables with adjusted values are described. A complete mathematical analysis of the motor model of the AC induction motor is given including the stator and rotor leakage inductances. |
