PURPOSE:To reduce the used quantity of a phosphor by allowing the phosphor as a luminous material and the sulfate of alkaline earth metal to coexist. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent screen 3 is provided on the inner face of a glass faceplate 6 so as to face an electron gun 1, and a pair of deflecting coils 4, 4' are provided at the neck portion of a glass funnel 7 between the electron gun 1 and the fluorescent screen 3. The fluorescent screen 3 is a non-pattern fluorescent screen constituted of two types of luminous materials with different luminous colors among a super-linear luminous material, a linear luminous material, and a sub-linear luminous material. The sub-linear luminous material is made of a luminous composition material containing the grains fused with a phosphor and the sulfate of alkaline earth metal, and the super-linear luminous material is made of the luminous composition material provided with the sulfate layer of alkaline earth metal on the surface of the phosphor.
