PURPOSE:To make current distribution in electrodes uniform so as to increase capacity of a battery ay the time of high rate discharge by disposing a negative electrode with a layer of paste of active material including hydrogen storing alloy and binding agent is press-contact to one side of a conductive core body, a positive electrode and a separator, and by setting quantity of liquid kept in the separator between the conductive core body and the positive electrode smaller than the quantity of liquid kept in the separator between the layer of paste of active material and the positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:A layer of paste of active material 1a including hydrogen storing alloy and binding agent of a negative electrode 1 of a metal-hydrogen alkaline battery is press-contact to one side of a conductive core body 1b. On the other side of the conductive body 1b is disposed a positive electrode 2, and a separator 3 is disposed on the positive electrode 2 through a nonwoven fabric of polyamide 3a of the separator 3. On the other side of the separator 3 is disposed a nonwoven fabric of polyolefin 3b, and it is contained in a battery can 4. Quantity of liquid kept in the separator 3 between the conductive core body 1b and the positive electrode 2 of the battery is set smaller than the quantity of liquid kept between the layer of paste of active material 1a and the separator 3, so that current distribution in the electrodes is uni formed, thereby capacity of a battery is increased. |
