PURPOSE:To increase the ink-replenishment speed, to enable the enhancement of a recording speed, and to minimize the possibility of sucking bubbles, by providing a by-path connecting from an ink supply path to a pressure- propagation path through a check-valve. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-propagation path 13 is disposed horizontally, and a vertical part 15a of an ink supply path 15 and a vertical flow path 17 forming a by-path are arranged vertically. A pulse-form electric signal is intermittently applied to an electromechanical transducer 16 which is composed of a piezoelectric element, etc. and stuck on the back outer wall surface forming a pressure chamber 14, whereby a pressure wave occurs in the pressure chamber 14. This pressure wave is transferred to an orifice 11 through the pressure-propagation path 13, thus from here breaking through an ink reservoir 12 in front to make an ink drip jet. Due to the negative pressure generated in the pressure chamber 14 just after the jetting of the ink drip, ink is sucked from the ink reservoir 12 into the pressure-propagation path 13 through the orifice 11. Ink is supplied by the shortage of ink in the ink reservoir 12 due to the capillary force of an ink supply path 25 in the peripheral part. |
