PURPOSE:To reduce an input impedance and enlarge the amplitude of a vibration, by polarizing a cylindrical ultrasonic rotary vibrator in the radial direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical ultrasonic quadrupole rotary vibrator is provided with an electrode 2 on the whole outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical piezoelectric element 1, made of ceramics, excluding belt type insulating parts with upper and lower 1 mm widths while the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical vibrator is provided with electrodes 6-9, divided into 4 divisions along the periphery thereof. The electrodes 6, 9, and the electrodes 7, 8 are connected commonly respectively to effect the process of polarization. Then, an output having the difference of phase by 90 deg. is impressed on the electrodes of the vibrator from a 2-phase oscillator 10. As a result, the center of gravity of the cylindrical piezoelectric element is rotated about the axis of the cylinder whereby a strong ultrasonic resonating system may be realized. |
