PURPOSE:To obtain the titled welding wire capable of omitting the pretreatment of a galvanized steel plate and improving the welding working efficiency remarkably in the case of performing the gas shielded welding of the galvanized steel plate by allowing the steel plate to contain C, P and S of a prescribed weight ratio respectively and contain Si and Mn in the specific content range. CONSTITUTION:The gas shielded arc welding wire of this invention contains, by weight, <=0.15% C, <=0.030% P and <=0.020% S and contains Si and Mn in the range surrounded by A, B, C and D in the diagram. In said welding wire, the quantities of Si and Mn are especially restrained low than an usual level. By this method, in either of the pulsed MAG welding or the CO2 gas welding, a pit, a glow hole and a worm hole are remarkably improved.
