PURPOSE:To apply a coating layer having no broken bubble mark or cavity by removing bubbles suspended in a flowing liquid, by providing an ultrasonic vibrating body to the main body or interior of the tank in the coating solution recirculation system of a sheet continuous coating apparatus. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic vibrating body 1 is arranged to the bottom part of an ultrasonic wave transmitting chamber 3 and a liquid mixture of a supply liquid 7, an overflow liquid 9 and a recovered liquid 11 is subjected to ultrasonic transmission treatment by said ultrasonic wave vibrating body 1 and kinetic energy is applied to the suspended bubbles therein to forcibly float said bubbles. By this method, the defoamed coating solution is supplied to a liquid raising apparatus 8 by a pump 12 and applied to a sheet 13 to be dried. As a result, a coated sheet such as a heat-sensitive or pressure-sensitive sheet having a smooth coating layer reduced in broken bubble marks or cavities is obtained.
