PURPOSE:To enhance drying efficiency and painting quality, by a method wherein a plurality of induction coils are allowed to approach a work and a current is supplied to the coils to induce an eddy current in the work to heat the work itself and spraying gas to the coating surface of the work in the vicinity of the coils. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of induction coils 48, 49 displaceable in accordance with the shape of a work such as a car body are allowed to approach the work and, subsequently, a high frequency current is supplied to the induction coils 48, 49 and the work itself is heated by said current to bake and dry the paint applied thereto. In this case, the heating temp. of the work is adjusted by controlling the magnitude of the current supplied to the induction coils 48, 49. The air supplied to a blow chamber 30 simultaneously at the time of heating is blown to the painting surface of the work through bellows-shaped tube bodies 50, 51 to prevent the stagnation of the volatilized solvent in the paint.
