PURPOSE:To prevent the moisture absorption of a generator rotor from being generated, by separating the lower section of a generator connected to a turbine room and a generator internal-section, with a shielding plate for surrounding a main shaft. CONSTITUTION:After a generator is cooled by cooling air 1 introduced from the upper section of the generator and cooling air 2 from the lower side of an air duct 4 set on the periphery of a stator 3 and coming to the lower section of the generator, the cooling air 1, 2 is turned into hot air and is conducted to an exhaust duct 5. A shielding plate 7 is set around a main shaft 6 so that air cannot be absorbed into the generator from a turbine room 8. Accordingly, moist air in the turbine room 8 does not flow in the generator, and so the moisture absorption of the rotor of the generator can be prevented from being generated, or the cooling air can be absorbed into the upper section and the lower section of the generator from a generator room, and so by dry air, the generator can be cooled.
