PURPOSE:To easily detect a surface state while measuring the distance of a work by producing electrical signals corresponding to the quantity of photodetection of a laser beam from the work with a photodetection system and producing a control signal to control gains of variable gain amplifiers with a signal processing circuit. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 22A for teaching reflected on a tape 25 and its neighboring periphery is photodetected with the photodetection system 26 and converted into electrical signals 1a and 1b and processed by a multiplexer 30A, a sample and hold circuit 30B and an A/D converter 30C in a signal processing means 30 and afterward, supplied to a signal processing circuit 30D. The signal processing circuit 30D produces distance signals based on current signals IA and IB from the photodetection system 26 and voltage signals VA and VB from the variable gain amplifiers 28A and 28B in the turn and produces a control signal VG. Then, a surface state signal is produced by dividing the control signal VG by the electrical signal Q. Namely, the tape 25 is detected. |
