PRODUCTION OF MICA HAVING LARGE ION EXCHANGE CAPACITY

PURPOSE:To obtain mica having excellent swelling properties, organic substance replacing properties and high ion exchange capacity, by blending raw materials of Li, Na, Mg, F and Si or Ge to correspond a given chemical composition formula and melting. CONSTITUTION:A Li source is blended with a Na source, a Mg source, a F source and a Si source or Ge source to correspond a chemical composition formula NaxLi1-xMg2LiSi4O10F2 or NaxLi1-xMg2LiGe4O10F2 (with the proviso that x is 0.2-0.8). Then the blend is melted.
