<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize an apparatus, to lower the cost thereof, and to reduce the power to operate it, by providing a plurality of grooves in a screw within a cylinder, and mounting hoppers corresponding to the grooves to the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A first resin 21 is charged into the first hopper 17, and a second resin 22 into the second hopper, and respective shutters 16, 18 are opened in accordance with the feed of the resins. When an electric current is passed to heaters 12 and the screw 13 is rotated, the first and second resins 21, 22 are melted and moved forward in the respective grooves 14, 15. In this case, as the different between the outer diameter of the screw 13 and the inner diameter of the cylinder 11, that is the clearance therebetween, is mimimum, the resins 21, 22 in the respective groove 14, 15 cannot go over crests of the screw 13 onto the adjacent grooves. Consequently, the first and second resins 21, 22 are melted and moved forward independently in the grooves 14, 15. Depending upon the pattern desired for the intended article, the first and second grooves 14, 15 are extended as two independent grooves to the tip of the screw 13 or the last parts of the grooves are merged into one groove. If the number of the grooves increased to for example 3 or 4, multi-color molding becomes possible.</p> |
