PURPOSE:To detect the drift of the fold position or the bent of folded sheets by providing the first and second edge sensors detecting side end positions on both sides of folded sheets discharged from a rotary folding machine and a means detecting the length of the folded sheets in the transfer direction. CONSTITUTION:Edge sensors 100, 101 are provided at side end positions on both the right and left sides of folded sheets P in the transfer direction respectively on the table 1 of a chopper folding machine, while the folded sheets P are transferred by a belt 5, image signals from the edge sensors 100, 101 based on the timing signals are fed to an inspecting device main body 10. If the fold is defective or the crease is bent, the length of the folded sheet P in the transfer direction is different from the reference value, thus the defective fold is detected by comparing the measured value for each folded sheet with the reference value stored in the inspecting device main body 10 in advance.
