PURPOSE:To remove foam or dust from a recording head and to remove recording liquid or dust adhered around an orifice, by providing a means for producing a gas flow in a space formed by a cap member and a fluid jet recording head, and providing a projection at a portion facing with an orifice in the cap member. CONSTITUTION:A sealing member 2 is arranged at the side of a cap member 1 facing with a recording head so as to form a space 3 therein. A projecting wall 4 is provided on a surface of the space section 3 facing with the recording head, and when the cap member 1 is set on the delivery face of the recording head, a Venturi tube mechanism is constructed between projection section 4A of the projecting wall 4 and the delivery face. High speed air flow is produced at the Venturi tube section 40 to produce negative pressure so as to suck recording liquid through a flow path 32 and an orifice 31. Dust and foam in the flow path 32 are also sucked, and liquid or dust adhered to a delivery face 16A near the orifice is blown off simultaneously. |
