NEW MATERIAL:beta-Rotenonone oxime expressed by formula I. USE:An agricultural chemical or medicine. PREPARATION:For example, rotenone expressed by formula II is oxidized in a solvent using iodine, sulfuric acid, etc., to form rotenonone, which is dispersed in ethanol and hydrolyzed by adding a 10% potassium hydroxide aqueous solution to afford a rotenononic acid expressed by formula III (R<1> and R<2> represent H). Then a mixture of sodium acetate with acetic anhydride is added thereto and heated at 130 deg.C to carry out cyclization and provide beta-rotenonone expressed by formula IV. The resultant is then dispersed in ethanol and hydroxylamine hydrochloride is added thereinto and heated while refluxing to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
