PURPOSE:To suppress leakage flux, by arranging respective phase poles so that the magnetic poles of permanent magnet pieces may be positionally shifted from confronted salient poles at every one pitch of phase number component, and by embedding short circuit rings in spaces between the salient poles or performing the like. CONSTITUTION:A moving member 1 has a yoke 3 made of a channel-formed ferromagnetic member accomodating a three-phase set of magnetic poles of laminated ferromagnetic cores 4 around which concentrated winding coils 5-7 are wound respectively and independently. On the core surfaces facing the core gap, there are provided a number of adjacent, narrow permanent magnet pieces 8 with alternate polarities. The respective magnetic poles are tandem-arranged in the advancing direction of the mover 1 and are fixed on the central section of the internal section of the yoke 3. A stator 2 includes salient poles 9 arrangeed at equal intervals and facing the permanent magnet pieces 8 across the core gap, and continuous rails 10 arranged in the advancing direction and facing both legs 3a of the yoke 3. A short circuit rings 11 are embedded in a box-formed recesses formed between the salient poles 9 and the rails 10. As a result, the quantity of the core material is reduced, and thus a light, compact motor is realized.
