PURPOSE:To provide the title display comprising a compsn. which has low viscosity, extremely high response speed and chemical stability and permits high-duty, dynamic drive and which comprises a liq. crystal compsn. composed of a combination of two types of compds. CONSTITUTION:The title display comprising a pair facing electrode plates and, sandwiched therebetween, a nematic liq. crystal compsn. composed of at least two compds. of formula I (wherein R1 is a 3-6C straight-chain alkyl; and R2 is a 1, 2, or 4C straight-chain alkyl) and at least one compd. of formula II (wherein R3 is a 3 or 5C straight-chain alkyl; and R4 is a 1 or 3-7C straight- chain alkyl). The compds. of formula I are white, stable compd. esp. excellent in dynamic drive properties. Addition of the compd. of formula II thereto improves the response speed. The compsn. thus prepd. has low viscosity, extremely high response speed and chemical stability and permits high-duty dynamic drive.
