Motor vehicle step which is designed to provide protection against ramming

Known steps and/or anti-ramming devices which are mounted on the rears if motor vehicles, especially small trucks, have articulated parallelograms or telescopic guides with spring tension and are expensive and prone to malfunction. The new step can function without articulations or slideways and is therefore not sensitive to dirt and is completely maintenance-free, because the step (1) is connected to the vehicle frame by means of leaf springs (10) which form a curve in a horizontal plane but the long sides of which are vertically arranged and is supported at its corner regions facing the vehicle by the leaf springs (10) which, in the mounted condition, rest, with pretensioning, against stops (14) beneath a perforated metal sheet (2) of the step (1). <IMAGE>
