PURPOSE:To sufficiently cool both a light source part and a power source part by the titled unit with simple and inexpensive structure, by providing a dividing means for diverting cooling air from one set of air blower to each unit, on an electronic circuit unit and a light source part unit which are provided in a light source unit. CONSTITUTION:In a light source unit 1, a light source part unit 2, and an electronic circuit unit 3 containing a power source part are placed, and between the light source part unit 2 and the electronic circuit unit 3, a heat shielding plate 5 for dividing both of them is provided, and in the vicinity of a suction port 7 of a ventilating hole, an air blower is placed. By the air blower 4, cooling air is inhaled from the suction port 7, divided into two by the heat shielding plate 5 and advances, one of them cools the light source part unit 2, and the other cools equally the electronic circuit unit 3, and thereafter, discharged from a discharge port 6. The heat shielding plate 5 cuts off heat radiation to the electronic circuit unit 3 from the light source part unit 2, and also, executes simultaneously an action for dividing the cooling air into both the light source part unit 2 and the electronic circuit unit 3. In such a way, by a simple structure, both the light source part and the power source part are cooled ideally and directly, and an endoscope use light source unit which is inexpensive and whose cooling efficiency is also satisfactory is obtained.
