PURPOSE:To facilitate vortex detection by providing a couple of heat sensors at an intermediate position between a Karman vortex street which separates and flows from a vortex generation body behind the vortex generation body and the internal wall of a flow passage, and detecting Karman vortexes according to the outputs of the heat sensors. CONSTITUTION:The vortex generation body 2 which consists of a vortex generating element whose section is in an isosceles triangle shape, a flat plate type vortex generating element 22, and a T-shaped vortex generating element 23, and the couple of heat sensors 31 and 32 are arranged between the vortex street Vs and the flow tube wall 1. Further, the sensors 31 and 32 are arranged on the rear flow side of the separation point P of the generation body 2 while a position (b) and the interval (a) between the sensors 31 and 32 is selected. Then current variation for holding the temperature of the hot wires of the sensors constant by a constant temperature heading circuit 41, etc., connected to the sensors 31 and 32 is shaped by a differential amplifier circuit 5 and outputted through a trigger circuit 6. Then the sensors 31 and 32 are arranged at specific positions and a pulse signal with a good S/N ratio is easily obtained.
