PURPOSE:To impart crack resistance and toughness to epoxy resins, by dispersing specific silicone resin particles formed from an organopolysiloxane having silanol groups at both terminals and an organosilane compd. in an epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:This epoxy resin compsn. is obtd. by dispersing silicone resin particles formed from 5-200pts.wt. component (a) and a compd. selected from the group consisting of components (b)-(e) in a specific ratio in 100pts.wt. epoxy resin. Component (a) is an organopolysiloxane having silanol groups at both terminals, represented by formula I, etc. (wherein R1 is methyl or the like; p is 9-500); (b) is an aminosilane compd. of formula II, etc. (wherein R3 is H or the like; R4 is -C2H4- or the like; R5 and R6 are each methyl or the like; m is 0 or 1); (C) is a mercaptosilane compd. of formula III (wherein R9 is -C3H6- or the like); (d) is an epoxysilane compd. of formula IV, etc. (wherein R10 is a group of formula V or the like); and (e) is an isocyanatosilane compd. of formula VI [wherein R11 is -A- (wherein A is an alkylene) or the like].
