[Also in Division E2] In a laundry machine comprising electrical components located in a casing having a hinged access door 16 provided with a handle 24, a latch 30, having a thumb element 31 and a hook element 32, -extends through the door adjacent the handle 24 and is locked in a position to prevent opening of the door 16, during operation of the machine, by a pivotally mounted locking lever 43 operated by an armature 46 controlled by a solenoid 47. The latch 30 is fixed to a pivot shaft 34 and is pressed resiliently against an adjustable screw stop 40 by a spring 39. The lever 43 is mounted so that its weight urges it into a position in which it interferes with the hook element 32 when solenoid 47 is energized. The solenoid 47 is connected in the supply circuit for the electrical components. Additionally, a door switch may be provided in series with this electrical circuit so that the door 12 must be closed before power can be applied to the machine.</p> |
