PURPOSE:To immediately and properly correspond and to improve service for a customer by providing a means displaying data out of the range of validity which causes an IC card to be invalid. CONSTITUTION:When the invalid card 1 is inserted again to a card insertion slit 23, it is judged whether an inputted password number coincides with a code number stored in the IC card 1 or not. When they are not, the fact that the password number is not coincident is stored and the card is NG-returned. When they coincide with each other, it is sequentially judged whether balance, the term of validity and a valid code stored in a memory 4 are valid or not. When one of the data is decided to be out of the range of the validity, the corresponding invalid content is stored and the card is NG-returned and the content of NG is displayed on a CRT 25. Thus the cause that the IC card becomes invalid can be easily recognized.
