<p>A gripper weaving machine has at least one weft yarn picking means (6, 8) with a pierced elastic picking band (14) carrying at one end a gripping head (10, 12) and capable of being advanced then drawn back again into a shed (4) by a reciprocatingly-driven driving wheel (20). The driving wheel is provided with teeth (22) around its circumference that engage in the holes of the picking band (14). A guiding means (24) arranged on the side of the gripping head is linked to the driving wheel (20). To improve the working of the weft yarn picking means, the end (16) of the band facing away from the gripping head (10, 12) is attached to a rotary guiding means (21), so that the end of the band describes an at least approximately circular path during a complete working cycle.</p> |
