A motor drives the merry-go-round ring (1) across a drive pinion (2) and the pairs of figures (13) are fixed respectively on discs each secured on a circular reception plate (7) which engages with the respective friction sleeves (6) . The friction sleeves (6) depending on the setting of the of control cams, can be pressed against the outer or inner friction surfaces (16,17), and running concentric to the merry-go-round ring or run between the friction surfaces (16,17). The trunnions (5) are fixed on spring levers which are arranged to swivel on the merry-go-round ring and the ring movement of the trunnion facilitates a radial movement relative to the ring (1). Each friction sleeve (6) has control disc (8) located at the lower end of the sleeve (6) and each spring lever has a second control disc and the discs (8) are pressed against the radially adjustable control cams.
