<p>In a microwave oven, the distribution of energy in the cooking area (2) is improved by the provision of a wave paddle (3) and a rotary plate (5). The rotary plate (5) is flush-mounted in the floor (4) of cooking area (2). The drive (6) of the rotary plate (5) is designed to be switchable to allow operation without the use of said drive (6). In this way the entire surface area of the floor of the cooking area (2) can be used, in particular for food covering a large surface area or for food supports which project beyond the rotary plate (5).</p> |
