A cage for roller bearings executing longitudinal movements consists of segments (1, 2) arranged in series in the longitudinal direction (3) with at least one pocket (4) and a roller (5) installed in each pocket (4). Adjacent segments (1, 2) are supported on opposite end faces (11, 12), one of the two end faces (11) having a journal (13) with a longitudinal centre line (14) which engages in a hole (16) in the other end face (12). To allow the cage to be adapted to a roller bearing in which the axes (21, 22) of rotation of the rollers (5) are crossed or uncrossed, a single journal (13) is arranged on one of the two end faces (11). The centre line (14) of all the journals (13) of the segments (1, 2) of the cage lie on a common setting axis (10A). Each journal (13) has a circumferential surface (15) which is arranged adjustably on a matching surface (17) of the hole (16) in the other end face (12) in one or in the other position rotated about the setting axis (10A). <IMAGE>
