A composite profile (11) comprises two tubes (12, 14) and an insulating insert (32) which is arranged therebetween and is penetrated by separate connecting bodies (27) which project, by means of their ends, through bores of the mutually facing inner walls of the tubes (12, 14) into the interior of the tubes (12, 14). The ends of the connecting bodies (27) exhibit axial slots (28) which define two wall portions (46, 48) which, when the tubes (12, 14) are moved together, are expanded directly behind the mutually facing inner walls of said tubes (12, 14) by means of in each case one expansion body (36). <IMAGE>
