PURPOSE:To ensure superior storage stability at high temperature and fixability at low temperature by forming a hydrophobic resin coat on the surfaces of particles having an average particle diameter of 5-20mum obtained by mixing a colorant and a magnetic powder, when needed, into a low molecular weight compound having a melting point of 30-150 deg.C with a hydrophobic resin. CONSTITUTION:The powder toner to be used is obtained by forming the hydrophobic resin coat on the surfaces of the particles A having an average particle diameter of 5-20mum composed of the low molecular weight compound having a melting point of 30-150 deg.C and a colorant and a magnetic powder, when needed. The low molecular weight compound is obtained by allowing a compound having at least one hydroxyl or amino group to react with a monoisocyanate or a polyisocyanate compound, or allowing a compound having >=2 hydroxyl or amino groups to react with a compound having a monocyanate compound, thus permitting the low molecular weight compound to be rapidly melted at the melting point in fixing the powder toner and abruptly dropped in viscosity by using said compound as the binder, the heat energy necessary for fixing to be remarkably reduced, and storage stability of the toner to be easily improved by coating with the hydrophobic resin. |
