PURPOSE:To press-fit a powder lubricant in a uniform thickness, to reduce the quantity of the lubricant to be used and to improve the service life of a die by equipping with an elastic cover on the surface of a press-fitting roller, in an apparatus for press-fitting the powder lubricant on a wire rod by the press-fitting roller. CONSTITUTION:The wire rod 14 passed through a guide die 16 is fed into a box 15 storing the powder lubricant, press-fitted the lubricant on its surface by two pairs of rollers 1 of the press-fitting apparatus, then subjected to wire drawing by a drawing die. At the time of press-fitting by this press-fitting rollers 1, because the surface of the rollers 1 are covered by the elastic cover 8, the contact surface between the wire rod 14 and the cover 8 is brought into contact in a uniform pressure by a proper elastic function. In this way, the lubricant in a uniform thickness is always press-fitted on the whole contact surface.
