PURPOSE:To execute a stable transfer by applying an insulating paint to a member guiding a transfer material up to an image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 1 brings a transfer material 4 into contact with an image carrying body 2 formed on its surface, and by a sheet sending device 15, a corona generator 3 is placed on the transfer region of the carrying body, and its ion emission port 9 is allowed to face the carrying body 2. Also, the front edge part 16 of a guiding member 14 consisting of a conductive material is placed in the longitudinal direction of the carrying body 2, in a position intersecting a corona ion current, and an insulating paint 8 is applied to a face other than the face opposed to the carrying body 2 of the front edge part 16. In such a way, the flow of the corona ion current is reduced, and only after the transfer material 4 is brought into contact with the surface of the carrying body 2, it is exposed to the corona ion current.
