PURPOSE:To position ferrules mutually and to facilitate connection switching by forming fitting parts for coupling where coupling pins are fitted tightly at the opposite positions of the ferrules, and making the abutting surface of the ferrules abut on each other and inserting a common coupling pin into the fitting parts of those 1st and 2nd ferrules. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd ferrules 4 and 5 and the coupling pin 5 and a sleeve 7 for the mutual positioning and coupling between the couple of ferrules 4 and 5 are provided atop of the 1st and 2nd optical fibers 2 and 3 of an optical fiber connector 1. Those fibers 2 and 3 are each formed by bundling five fiber element wires 8 in a ribbon shape. The tip parts of the elements wires 8 of those fibers 2 and 3 are held by the ferrules 4 and 5 while exposed to the abutting surfaces 4a and 5a stop the ferrules 4 and 5. The fitting parts 9 for coupling are formed at the opposite positions of the abutting surfaces 4a and 5a and the coupling pin 6 is inserted into the both. |
